While the Vintage Days spring festival remains one of the longest held traditions on the Fresno State campus, each year offers a new twist. This year, it’s the new Dave and Buster’s Fun Zone, which will include inflatables, a ferris wheel, a rock wall, a zip line and a spider jump.
Vintage Days is a free, three-day festival running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 11 and 12, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 13. The festival will be set up in Lots P30 and P31 near the Lynda and Stewart Resnick Student Union at Fresno State.
In the 1970s, Vintage Days started from the dream of students wanting to transform campus life at Fresno State. Vintage Days has continued to welcome the community to the Fresno State campus, attracting over 50,000 people for three days of entertainment, shopping and opportunities to support student organizations.
There is something for all ages as guests will enjoy live music, local food vendors, the Crafts Faire, food and game booths run by student organizations, kids’ activities and attractions, Anime Gaming Con and the Beer and Wine Garden for adults 21 and over.
More than 21 clubs and organizations will be selling food and desserts and eight will host game booths to raise funds for various causes. For many of these clubs and organizations, Vintage Days is their largest fundraiser of the year.
More than 15 local food vendors will be present, including Ohana Whip Wagon, The Corndog Company, Loving Seed, CREAM, Xtreme Shawarma, Texas Twister, A Taste of Paradise Shaved Ice, Country Faire Cinnamon Rolls, Dippin’ Dots, Dutch Bros, FURY Hot Chicken, Hol-N-Jam, Jay’s Specialty Ice Cream, Old Tyme Kettle Korn, Sanchez Concessions and Aguas Las Rancheritas.
A pirate-themed Kids Zone will be available for the little ones to enjoy. This area includes a trackless train presented by Amtrak, inflatables, crafts, activities, a petting zoo and pony rides.
Anime Gaming Con invites attendees to explore the world of gaming, virtual reality experiences, cosplay costumes, collectible vendors and anime. An official cosplay contest will begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 12. Guest voice actors Howard Wang, Cia Court, Kendell Byrd and Emily Sun will make an appearance all day Saturday, April 12, and Sunday, April 13. Anime Gaming Con will be located in the Resnick Student Union.
To participate in the attractions, guests can purchase wristbands for $30. A daily wristband includes unlimited play at the trackless train, mini golf, axe throwing, Dave and Buster’s Fun Zone, Kids Zone and Anime Gaming Con attractions.
Those who are 21 and over can enjoy the Beer and Wine Garden presented by Michelob Ultra. The Beer and Wine garden will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The Michelob Ultra Stage will feature 27 bands and artists from the Central Valley.
More than 160 crafts fair vendors will feature items like hand-sewn clothes, purses, vintage clothing, homemade goods, desserts, jewelry, art and more.
