Editors: Here is the agenda for the seminar today (April 14) on “Banking and Monetary Policy: Issues & Answers About the Fed.” The session will be held in the Smittcamp Alumni House at Fresno State.
This seminar addresses issues related to banking and monetary policy. Economists from the Federal Reserve will discuss how the Fed operates, its role in monetary policy and how these polices impact the economy. Economists will also address challenges and trends in the banking industry and present current economic forecasts. Attendees will gain insight into how the Fed actually makes monetary policy. The symposium will feature a Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) simulation in which students will role play and analyze economic conditions, discuss monetary policy alternatives and cast a vote regarding the direction of interest rates.
