Preview Day 2006 will be held at California State University, Fresno on Saturday, March 25, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to provide applicants for the fall 2006 semester an opportunity to meet and interact with faculty and staff at Fresno State.

Registration will be held at the North Gym (5305 N. Campus Drive). However, pre-registration is recommended and is available after Feb. 22 at www.gotofresnostate.com.

Sponsored by University Outreach Services, Preview Day will include an Academic and Student Services Information Fair with information on academic programs, financial aid, career services and housing.

The fair will take place in the Peace Garden from 10 a.m. to noon and will include representatives from academic departments. The fair is an opportunity for prospective students to meet faculty and learn more about the university’s academic programs, said Lupe Maldonado, Outreach counselor.

“By participating in Preview Day 2006, students will be able to interact with faculty who will teach courses within their majors,” Maldonado said. “Preview Day is designed to give prospective students a closer look at our faculty and facilities. It’s an opportunity to interact with faculty, ask questions and take a look at the great facilities we have here.”

Maldonado said the Preview Day is a follow-up to University Open House held in October, which also targets prospective students.

“Once students have applied, Preview Day is a program that can help them overcome obstacles that may prevent them from taking that last step into college,” Maldonado said.

Information workshops related to admissions, financial aid, and student success will be held during the day. Campus and housing tours also will be available.

A record 13,500 applications from prospective first time freshman were received by the Feb. 1 deadline. However, the deadline for transfers and returning students was extended to April 1.
