With 98 percent of students already using Web-based registration procedures, California State University, Fresno announced that beginning with the fall 2006 registration cycle it will no longer offer telephone-assisted registration.

Fresno State students will register only on the Web and no longer add or drop classes by using the Student Telephone Assisted Registration (STAR) system.

Fresno State first offered Web-based registration in fall 2002. Since then, students were given the option to register using the Web or the STAR system.

Last semester, more than 20,000 students registered at Fresno State and only 116 students exclusively used the telephone registration system.

During the fall 2006 registration period April 17-28, students who do not have access to a computer for registration can use laptops and get assistance on the main floor on the University Student Union from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Students also may access university computer labs in various buildings on campus.

Students who need accommodations due to a disability may contact the office of Services for Students with Disabilities at 278-2811 for assistance.

For more information regarding registration, contact the registrar’s office at 559.278.2191.
