A free Family Fitness and Fun Day will be presented 9 a.m.-noon May 15, at Liberty Elementary School in northeast Fresno by fitness staff members of the Student Recreation Center at California State University, Fresno.

This event, which is open to the public, is inspired by Gov. Schwarzenegger’s challenge to children to engage in 30 minutes of physical activity three times a week for 30 days.

Family-friendly workouts are planned, and vendors will offer a variety of services promoting healthy habits for children, said Maia Jost, fitness programs coordinator for recreational sports and fitness in Fresno State’s Division of Student Affairs.

“We encourage all members of the community to engage in good, old-fashioned family fun,” Jost said.

Pinnacle Training Systems is sponsoring the activity in cooperation with Fresno State Recreation Center and Clovis Unified School District.

Liberty Elementary School is on Perrin Avenue at Liberty Hill Drive.
