The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Legislation and Congressional Affairs has awarded Student Support Services at California State University, Fresno a five-year $301,692 grant to help further assist low-income, first-generation and disabled students.

The grant will fund additional tutoring, career advising, graduate and professional enrollment guidance and financial help for students.

Student Support Services also provides academic help to students with limited English proficiency.

The program’s goal is to help students remain in college and reach graduation within six years through academic advising, reading and writing instruction and peer mentoring.
