Preview Day 2013 for prospective high school and community transfer students will begin 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at the Save Mart Center where students planning to enroll for the fall semester will get a closer look at academic programs and facilities.

The free, public event begins with an open session followed by Academic Highlights sessions, where colleges and departments will showcase the opportunities their various  programs provide.

The first Academic Highlights session will be for students with majors in the Colleges of Arts and Humanities, Health and Human Services and Social Sciences and the Craig School of Business and the Lyles College of Engineering.

The second session will be for students in the Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, the Kremen School of Education and Human Development, the College of Science and Mathematics and undeclared majors.

“Preview Day 2013 is designed to provide prospective students an opportunity to interact with faculty, ask questions and take a look at the great facilities we have here,” said Frances Peña, director of University Outreach Services, which sponsors the annual event.

A student services information fair will follow featuring student clubs and organizations, student support services and an opportunity for students to accept their admission and register for the Dog Days orientation sessions held in the summer.

Informational workshops will provide participants with access to campus and housing tours, library tours and admissions and financial aid counselors.

The Parent Association reception is 2 p.m. in the Vintage Room at the University Center. Parents of incoming students can meet each other, learn what to expect at Dog Days and New Student Orientation and how to prepare students for attending Fresno State.

Pre-registration is required. For more information, call University Outreach Services at 559.278.2048 or visit online.
