‘Latina@ LGBTQ: Healing’ talk is Sept. 26

Dr. Migdalia Reyes, professor of social work at San Jose State University, will lead a discussion, “Latina@ LGBTQ: Healing Ourselves, Healing the Community,” from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, in the Henry Madden Library, Room 2206. The event will be a conversation about how the Latino/a lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning communities and their allies address substance abuse and “how intersecting oppressions affect everyday realities,” said Dr. Kris Clarke, associate professor of social work at Fresno State who organized the event with alumni Dawn Marie Luna and Stephanie Canales and activist Yesenia Valdez.
