The Wayfinders Program at Fresno State, an inclusive postsecondary program for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is currently recruiting and interviewing for its fifth cohort which starts August 1. The program is administered in the Kremen School of Education and Human Development. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 – 28 with a diagnosed intellectual or developmental disability (downs syndrome, autism/autistic spectrum disorders, traumatic brain injury). Students in the Wayfinders Program increase their independence by experiencing university life through facilitated and non-facilitated interactions. The program curriculum is based on the best practices of existing inclusive postsecondary programs with classes that are focused on preparing them for transition into an independent living after graduation.
