The second annual Fresno State Hunger Awareness and Food Insecurity Banquet, a fundraiser to support the Food Security Project, will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 30 at the Smittcamp Alumni House. The program coordinates the Student Cupboard, Meal Buxx and Good Samaritan Fund projects. At the student-run banquet, which is sold out, about 400 community and student guests will participate in an interactive educational fair, engage in a hunger simulation dinner and hear key community members share how they helped to create food security in the San Joaquin Valley. It also will include a silent auction, dessert buffet and information about how to get involved.
