(March 9, 2016) — Paul McCartney will make his first appearance in Fresno when he opens his One On One Tour Wednesday, April 13 in the Save Mart Center at Fresno State, SMG announced today.

The Fresno appearance by the 21-time Grammy Award winner injects a high voltage of electricity into what is already a charged up week for the campus with the 42nd annual Vintage Days spring celebration following the concert April 15-17.

SMG, the University’s management partner for the center, announced the blockbuster concert at a press conference this morning that included a proclamation from Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearingen declaring April 13 as “Paul McCartney Day” in the City of Fresno.

Tickets for McCartney’s concert will be on sale March 14 at 10 a.m., but American Express® Card members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 10 until 10 p.m. Sunday, March 13.

The campus stop will be the only California performance for the two-time inductee into the Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame, said Steve Tadlock, general manager of SMG at a press conference in the Save Mart Center Bulldog Foundation Boardroom this morning about the former member of the Beatles and Wings.

Following Fresno, McCartney will perform April 15 in Portland, OR; April 17 in Seattle, WA; April 19 in Vancouver BC; April 30 in Little Rock, AK; and May 2 in Sioux Falls, SD.

In addition to the mayor, Tadlock was joined by Mary Castro, wife of university president Joseph I. Castro; and Deborah Adishian-Astone, interim vice president of Administrative Services.

In its press release today, SMG said the One On One tour “promises to unveil a dazzling re-designed set, dozens of classics from the most beloved catalog in popular music, spanning Paul’s entire career– and no shortage of surprises.”

“The Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show — and so much more: nearly three hours’ worth of the greatest moments from the last 50 years of music, dozens of songs that have formed the soundtracks of our lives,” SMG said.

The One On One Tour will debut a new production utilizing state of the art audio and video technology with massive screens, lasers and fireworks to showcase a wide selection of McCartney classics.
