A radio documentary about a recent Central Valley Honor Flight trip to Washington, D.C., won second place in the Broadcast Education Association faculty audio competition. Faith Sidlow, an assistant professor with Fresno State’s Mass Communication and Journalism Department, traveled to Washington, D.C., with 65 World War II and Korean War veterans from the Central Valley earlier this summer and produced the documentary that was presented by the campus radio station KFSR to tell their story and help raise funds for future honor flights. Sidlow and professor Candace Egan will attend the Super-Regional Conference Oct. 13 to 15 at the University of South Carolina and will accept the award during the conference.
