Fresno State will pay tribute to Mr. Bob Hirth, alumnus and a member of the Arts and Humanities Advisory Board, with a half-staff flag tribute on Monday, March 13. Mr. Hirth died on Feb. 10 at the age of 71. University President Joseph I. Castro ordered the tribute in memory of the 1973 graduate who earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. Mr. Hirth served in the U.S. Navy, became an architect and later became an attorney in Madera. Mr. Hirth is survived by his wife, Ellen, two children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A private celebration is set for a later date. Jacqueline Doumanian, also an advisory board member and a close friend of the Hirths, said the family requests any donations made in his memory benefit the Dean’s Council Annual Fund, which is used for the Dean’s Council Scholarship Endowment and the Dean’s Discretionary Fund. Donations can be made at Annual Fund. See the College of Arts and Humanities video of Mr. Hirth.
