Valley women to be honored for philanthropic, ag involvement

The 21st annual Common Threads Luncheon will honor four local women for their agricultural, philanthropic and community service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, at the International Agri-Center Heritage Complex in Tulare. Award recipients are Mary Mello of Hanford, Betty Morehead of Pixley, Bonnie Schultz of Riverdale and Ann Stone of Lemoore. The luncheon will also feature award-winning Fresno State wines and a raffle. Tickets are $50 per person or $500 for a table if purchased by March 15 ($60 per person and $600 for a table after March 15). Net proceeds support the California Agricultural Leadership Foundation, Ag One Foundation and charities of the honorees’ choice. Common Threads is a collaborative effort of the California Agricultural Leadership Foundation, Fresno State’s Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology and the Ag One Foundation.
