The Hmong Voices Series at Fresno State will feature singer/composer Tou Ly Vangkhue from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at the North Gym (Room 118). The Hmong Voices Series, hosted by the Hmong program, presents lectures, readings and cultural and artistic events to promote a better understanding of Hmong issues. The goal of the series is to foster a cultural awareness and appreciation of the Hmong language, culture, literature and arts. Vangkhue is a gained fame in the 1980s. He will share the inspirations behind his music and perform some of his most well-known tunes. The event is free and open to the public, and it is sponsored by the Department of Linguistics, the College of Arts and Humanities and the Henry Madden Library.
