Registration for the African American Youth Leadership Academy is now open for mothers, ages 16 to 30, to learn about leadership development and advocacy. The free, 13-week program is hosted by the Fresno County Preterm Birth Initiative and the Central California Center for Health and Human Services at Fresno State. Participants will work alongside other mothers to expand their knowledge of leadership skills, reproductive justice, mental health and action-taking steps in the community. The academy is happening now through May 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Legacy Commons (2255 S. Walnut Ave.). INFO: To register or learn more, contact Kristin Carraway at kristinc@csufresno.edu or 559.228.2164.
