Fresno State’s national and state flags will fly at half-staff on Thursday, July 19, in memory of former Fresno State football player and coach Darryl Rogers, who died July 11 at age 84. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 19, at Trinity Community Church in Clovis. A student-athlete in 1955-56, Mr. Rogers went on to become Fresno State’s head football coach from 1966-72. He later coached at San Jose State (1973-75), Michigan State (1976-79) and Arizona State (1980-84). He moved to the NFL ranks from 1985-88, coaching the Detroit Lions.
