Armenian Studies program to hold a two-day international conference

The Committee of Union and Progress: Founders, Ideology, and Structure” conference will be  held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, in the Alice Peters Auditorium (Room 191), and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, in the Conley Art Building (Room 101). The conference focuses on the Committee of Union and Progress, who were the political leaders of Ottoman Turkey throughout most of the period 1908-1915.

Conference participants Dr. Raymond Kevorkian, of Paris; Dr. Ümit Kurt, Kazan Visiting Professor; Dr. Yektan Turkyilmaz, of Berlin; and Dr. Hans-Lukas Kieser, of Australia will analyze the CUP and its relationships with Armenians.

Free parking is available on both conference days in Fresno State Lots P5 and P6, near the University Business Center.
