The Kremen School of Education and Human Development faculty and staff will be volunteering at the Central California Food Bank from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22. The Central California Food Bank has a school backpack program where children are given a backpack filled with food to last the weekend on Fridays. Children then return the backpack empty on Monday and get another filled backpack the following Friday.

The Kremen School will fill nearly 5,000 backpacks for the March distributions to 10 schools, and are also including some inspirational messages from faculty and staff in the backpacks. This community service is serving as a team-building activity for the school, with the goal of giving back to the community.
