Fresno State’s Martin Luther King Jr. Committee and Gunnar Myrdal Lecture Series presents Dr. Quintard Taylor, Jr., University of Washington professor emeritus, from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at the Henry Madden Library, Room 2206. Dr. Taylor will discuss “Six little-known black women who changed the American West (and the world).”

Taylor is the Scott and Dorothy Bullitt Professor of American History at the University of Washington, and is the author of “In Search of the Racial Frontier: African Americans and the American West, 1528-1990”; “Seeking El Dorado: African Americans in California”; “African American Women Confront the West,” and numerous other scholarly books and articles.
