California State University, Fresno’s Department of Art and Design faculty is exhibiting examples of its work covering a broad spectrum of the visual arts.

The faculty’s “Synectic Synergy” show opens today (Jan. 25) in the Conley Gallery of the Phebe Conley Art Building, and closes March 1.

Work in water color, gouache, lithography, screen printing, mixed media, ink on Plexiglas and metal, oil and acrylic on canvas, clay, digital print, blow glass, ceramic, mechanical pencil and DVD are among the pieces in the show.

The diversity gives the community and prospective students examples of the variety of disciplines available from the Fresno State faculty and how the variety contributes to the whole of the department.

A reception is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, as part of that Thursday’s Art Hop event in which galleries throughout the community are open.

The Conley Gallery is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday. Admission is free.

There will be free parking in Lot B during the Feb. 1 reception.
