Alexander String QuartetOne of the worlds’s most accomplished classical music ensembles, the Alexander String Quartet, rings down the curtain on professional public performances for 2009 CSU Summer Arts with a concert at 7 p.m. today, July 23, at California State University, Fresno.

The Alexander String Quartet is affiliated with the Morrison Chamber Music Program at San Francisco State University that has nurtured the Hausmann and Afiara quartets that performed earlier in the 2009 CSU Summer Arts season. The Alexander String Quartet has established a growing reputation for its interpretation of new music.

Tickets are $15-$25 for the concert at the Concert Hall in the Music Building, Tickets are available noon-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 1-5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday at the Fresno State Box Office in the Speech Arts Building, online at www.csusummerarts.org or by phone at 559.278.5109.

Also today, is the second student culmination in the Writing Narratives course at 4 p.m. at the Conley Lecture Hall in the Phebe Conley Art Building. Culminations are free and open to the public.

CSU Summer Arts is a combination of classes taught by accomplished practitioners of a wide range of cultural arts. CSU Summer Arts concludes its 24th season – and 11th straight at Fresno State – with student culminations on Friday, July 24.
