Entrepreneurs and developers will be pitching their ideas during the inaugural Startup Weekend at Fresno State, Sept. 5-7. While this is the first Startup Weekend at Fresno State, more than 1,500 of these events around the world have resulted in more than 13,000 startups. Over the weekend teams will develop a business model, code, design and perform market validation. The weekend wraps up with team presentations at 6 p.m., Sunday Sept. 7 at the University Business Center on campus. “At its core, Startup Weekend is a hands-on experience where entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs can find out if startup ideas are viable,” said Renan de Lima, a senior at Fresno State and an event organizer. “It’s also a stepping stone to building a community of entrepreneurs who can feed off of each other’s talent, creativity, and support.” Tickets for the Sunday Showcase are $19.99. Early bird registration for the full three days is $64.99 until Aug. 30 and $79.99 after. Tickets can be purchased online. INFO: Connor Alstrom at 559.577.4778 or calstrom@mail.fresnostate.edu.
