The Central California chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) presented eight Image Awards to Fresno State’s Office of University Communications team today (May 7) for work completed in 2014. Awards of Excellence were presented to Eddie Hughes for his magazine article “Academics and Athletics Boldly Rise Together at Fresno State;” Randy Haar for the video “Supplemental Instruction at Fresno State;” Shirley Armbruster for speech writing, and Todd Graves and Cary Edmondson for their Fresno State football marketing poster. Awards of Merit were presented to Hughes in the magazine category; Armbruster for an opinion piece; and Chris Samaro for video. The Image Awards are produced annually and recognize works of distinction by public relations professionals in Central California. The program takes entries from throughout the chapter’s service area in Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Tulare and San Luis Obispo counties. They were judged by members from a PRSA chapter in Portland, Oregon.
