Vendors are now being accepted for the 12th annual California Fig Fest at Fresno State, scheduled for 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug.15. Presented by the California Fig Advisory Board and California Fresh Fig Growers Association, the event will feature TV celebrity chef Fabio Viviani, the author and restaurateur best known as the fan favorite on BRAVO’S “Top Chef” and Food Network’s “Cutthroat Kitchen.” Guests can sample locally-produced fig dishes and taste wines and other products. Local gourmet food trucks will also participate, sampling and selling their foods with a California fig twist among their most popular items. Fig Fest benefits Fresno State’s Ag One Ron Radoicich Scholarship for students studying viticulture and enology and the Fresno Sheriff’s Foundation.
