dannyG (640)Fresno State hosts the worldwide Dear World Campaign, an interactive and award-winning portrait project that unites people through photos in a distinct message-on-skin style, at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. today (April 4).

The public is invited to join students by writing messages of hope, inspiration and overcoming challenges on their skin. Participants can have a portrait of their message taken in the University Student Union lounge from 10 a.m to 3 p.m.

A storytelling event will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Satellite Student Union, featuring past stories from the campaign, stories from Fresno State and a compilation of the portraits that were taken earlier in the day.

Dear World’s work has been published in more than 30 countries, telling the stories of Syrian refugees in the world’s second largest refugee camp, survivors of the Boston Marathon bombing and survivors of a six-alarm fire in Breezy Point, New York, that destroyed 111 homes during Hurricane Sandy.
