Fresno State’s national and state flags will be posted at half-staff Monday, April 3, in memory of  Mr. John WallaceFranzman, former television newsman and longtime supporter of the University.

Mr. Wallace died Monday, March 27. He was 71. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at The Clovis Funeral Chapel (1302 Clovis Ave.). A public memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 3, at Peoples Church(7172 Cedar Ave.) in Fresno.

Fresno State President Joseph I. Castro issued the directive that the flags be lowered in honor of Mr. Wallace, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps who served as president of the Fresno State Timeout Club and as president of the Bulldog Foundation Board of Trustees.

Mr. Wallace is survived by wife Cheri; children Cass Dilfer, Cameron Weishaar, Paige Wise, Carson Franzman and Taylor Franzman; and eight grandchildren. His son-in-law is Trent Dilfer, the former Fresno State and NFL quarterback.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the favorite charity of the donor.
