Dr. Brad Hufft, Dept. of Music

Dr. Saúl Jimenez-Sandoval, dean of the College of Arts and Humanities at Fresno State, issued the following statement today upon learning of the death of Dr. Brad Hufft, professor in the Music Department. The California Highway Patrol reported that Dr. Hufft, who was 59, was found deceased inside his vehicle April 13 near an embankment on Werney Road, north of Road 415 near Coarsegold. The cause of the traffic accident is under investigation. The cause of Dr. Hufft’s death is pending a medical exam by the Madera County Coroner’s Office, according to CHP.  Dr. Hufft joined the Fresno State faculty in 2004 and was one of the lead developers of Fresno State’s online jazz and rock course. “I had the singular honor of meeting Brad, and he indeed was a special and kind person — dedicated to his students and art,” Jimenez-Sandoval said. “His legacy will live on in the countless students he touched with his love of music, and in his distinct way of interpreting human emotions and the meaning of life through his own musical compositions.”
