The Fresno State Armenian Studies Program will sponsor the presentation “Classical Armenian in the 21st Century: Why Armenian Sources Matter to Students Today,” presented by Dr. Sergio La Porta, Dr. Michael Pifer and student participants in the Fresno Institute for Classical Armenian Translation at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 12. Although the students’ areas of study may differ, student participants found they needed Classical Armenian to develop their research. The students participating in the institute enter a two-week intensive workshop in early June, to train in Classical Armenian so they may interpret and translate Armenian texts to improve their research. The presentation will be held on the Fresno State campus in the University Business Center in the A. Peters Auditorium, Room 191. Admission to the event is free. Use parking code 273825 to receive a FREE parking permit. Close parking will be available in Lots P6 and P5.
