The Committee of Union and Progress: Founders, Ideology, and Structure” conference will be  held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, in the Alice Peters Auditorium (Room 191), and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, in the Conley Art Building (Room 101). The conference focuses on the Committee of Union and Progress, who were the political leaders of Ottoman Turkey throughout most of the period 1908-1915.

Conference participants Dr. Raymond Kevorkian, of Paris; Dr. Ümit Kurt, Kazan Visiting Professor; Dr. Yektan Turkyilmaz, of Berlin; and Dr. Hans-Lukas Kieser, of Australia will analyze the CUP and its relationships with Armenians.
