The Fresno State California Water Institute will host the “Water and the Future of the San Joaquin Valley” public forum from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at the campus Satellite Student Union. Thomas Esqueda, Fresno State associate vice president for water and sustainability, and Sarge Green, Center for Irrigation interim director, will be featured among three panels that include 19 conservation, industry, faculty, government and research stakeholders.

Key topics will focus on potential new cooperative approaches to managing groundwater sustainability practices, safe drinking water supplies and natural and human water needs. The event is co-hosted by the Public Policy Institute of California that will release a study in conjunction with the event. The nonprofit think tank is dedicated to informing and improving state public policy through independent, objective and nonpartisan research.  INFO: Lori Pottinger, 415.291.4428 or pottinger@ppic.org.
