Fresno State’s national and state flags will be posted at half-staff on Tuesday, July 2, in honor of Dr. Robert “Bob” Levine, a professor emeritus from the Department of Psychology and a renowned social psychologist who published five books, most recently “Stranger in the Mirror: The Scientific Search for the Self.” Dr. Levine died on June 22 after a sudden illness.

He began teaching at Fresno State in 1974. He was named “Outstanding Teacher of the Year” by the Western Psychological Association, and in 2007 received California State University, Fresno Provost’s Excellence in Teaching Award. He became a professor emeritus in 2008, but continued to teach part-time in his retirement, including in the spring semester. A date has not yet been set for Dr. Levine’s services.
