The Fresno State Winery will host its biggest event of the semester, the Taste of Spring, from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, April 14, on the lawn next to the Vincent E. Petrucci Viticulture Building (2360 E. Barstow Ave.). Department of Viticulture and Enology students will pour popular campus-crafted wines like its Barbera Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Syrah Rosé and gold medal Late Harvest Muscat. Sausages from the campus meat science lab will be barbecued by the Viticulture Club, and light appetizers will also be served. Attendees can purchase wine, including a mix-and-match, six-bottle special for $50, and can choose between the 2018 Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot, Pinot Noir, Sargent Zinfandel and President’s Syrah Reserve, 2019 Muscat Canelli and 2021 Rosé. Admission is $20 for the general public, $15 for Fresno State students and staff (with campus ID), $10 for Wine Club members, and Fresno State Department of Viticulture and Enology students get in free.
