Kremen School of Education and Human Development will hold a teacher induction ceremony and orientation for about 150 Fresno State students starting teaching credential programs in spring 2024. The ceremony is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Satellite Student Union

The ceremony, held each semester, includes networking opportunities with education professionals, a panel of credential program alumni and guidance from faculty and staff. The pinnacle of the ceremony will be when attendees chant the educator affirmation statement,  celebrating their shared mission to empower students by instilling a passion for learning.

Nearly three-quarters of teachers in the region are Fresno State alumni, and the university is one of the top three producers of teachers in the state of California.

The educator affirmation serves to unify the group – the veteran educators in the room and the future teachers – as educators and to welcome our new credential candidates into the profession,” said Dr. Juliet Wahleithner, director of Educator Preparation Programs at Fresno State.

The future educators will pursue single-subject, multiple-subject and educational specialist teaching credentials to become elementary and middle school, high school or special education instructors.
