The newly renamed Richard “Dick” Keyes Leadership in Education Forum, hosted by the United Negro College Fund-Fresno, will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Ellipse Gallery on the second floor of the Fresno State Library

The forum, “Investing in the Young Minds of the 21st Century,” will feature a panel discussion with Dr. Sean A. Haley, executive director of the Center for Civic and Public Policy Improvement in Houston; Dr. Brent Jones, Seattle public schools superintendent; Dr. Ramar Henderson, professor of special education and counseling at California State University, Los Angeles; and Fresno State student Tamia Fuller, a senior political science major and recipient of the UNCF African American Education Fund scholarship.

The annual event was renamed this year in honor of Keyes, a former Fresno State professor who passed away in 2020. Keyes helped launch the Black studies and ethnic studies programs at Fresno State, and was a longtime community leader and member of the United Negro College Fund-Fresno Chapter for over 40 years.
