Belgian duo Jolente De Maeyer, violinist, and Nikolaas Kende, pianist, will perform at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 1, in the Music Building Concert Hall, performing works by Schubert, Mendelssohn and Beethoven. This concert is a special event of the Philip Lorenz Memorial Keyboard Concert series, and the first concert of the 2017-18 International Chamber Music Series. This Belgian duo is rapidly gaining recognition on the international chamber music scene. De Maeyer and Kende are winners of several European competitions and graduates of prestigious institutions such as the Munich Conservatory and the Yehudi Menuhin School in London. Following the concert, the duo will teach a series of violin, piano and chamber music master classes for Fresno State and pre-college music students from the community on Oct. 2, 4 and 5.
