Both her parents and a majority of her aunts and uncles attended Fresno State and they impressed on her the importance of a college education. She’s followed in their footsteps, and will graduate in May with a degree in civil engineering.

“In third grade my dream was to go to Fresno State,” Kimberly said. “As I got older, my horizons expanded, but I still landed here in Fresno and I am thankful for that.”

Kimberly, 21, is a member of the Smittcamp Family Honors College at Fresno State. She is active in the Tau Beta Pi campus chapter, was a founding member of Alpha Phi Epsilon Civil Engineering Honors Society and was the College of Engineering’s student government senator to Associated Students Inc.

“Overall, my experience here at Fresno State has been outstanding,” said Kimberly. “I have met amazing people.”

She credits her professors for her positive experience and quality education.

“The amount of attention and caring from professors is irreplaceable,” she said.

And because of the educational opportunities she has received, Kimberly wants to continue her education at Fresno State. She’s applied for the MBA program in the Craig School of Business.
