The Black Excellence in Science and Technology Initiative from Fresno State will host the “BEST Event: Fundraiser and Concert” from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the Delta (2974 E. Butler Ave, Fresno). All net proceeds will go toward Black student success and to support the Initiative’s overarching goal to advance racial equity, inclusion and belonging in STEM education.

The event will include a line-up of performers: Golden Charter Academy Steppers and Freedom Dancer, Fresno State Red Wavettes, free art classes by the artist Astro, demonstrations by Fresno State’s Department of Physics, African Drum Circle (African Drum Interactive), and spoken word (hosted by Fresno State Native American Student Shane Lara). A concert featuring internationally known artist Fashawn and special guest Marques Anthony will conclude the event

There will also be games (checkers, dominos, cards and Twister), friendship bracelet making and more. 

Pre-sale ticket prices are $10 and kids 12 and under are free.
