UPDATE 11/14/14: Report unfounded
Fresno State students and employees are being reminded to exercise caution following Monday’s report of a sexual assault on campus last week.
The Fresno State Police Department sent a crime alert informing the campus community that a victim reported the attack occurred at about 12:01 a.m. on Nov. 6 southwest of the University Dining Hall. The report was made to police on Nov. 10.
Three suspects were all described as 17-22 year-old African-American males about 5-feet, 11-inches tall and wearing black hoodie sweaters and dark-colored jeans. They were last seen driving west on Scott Avenue in a dark-colored Mustang.
The department reminded students to be aware of their surroundings, not to walk alone and stay in well-lit areas. Report any suspicious activity to police at 559.278.8400, text 559.664.3204 or use emergency blue light phones on campus to contact Fresno State police. For emergencies call 9-1-1.
The Fresno State Police Department also offers classes for the Rape Aggression Defense System, a program of realistic, self-defense tactics and techniques taught by police staff who are certified instructors. Classes for the next session in December are full but will be offered again in the spring.
