The Rosa Parks Awards and Africana Culture Night will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27 in the Satellite Student Union as part of Fresno State’s African Peoples’ History Month celebration. The awards will honor students who excel academically, athletically and artistically as well as individuals and groups who excel in community service. The free, public event is presented by Fresno State’s Central Valley Cultural Heritage Institute, the Africana Studies Program and Black Students United. Also that night, Donna Brazile speaks at 5 p.m. in North Gym, Room 118. On Monday March 2, the final event of the month-long observance will be held when Rev. Jeremiah Wright speaks at 6 p.m. in North Gym, Room 118.
