The Fresno State CineCulture series will feature “Josh/Against the Grain,” at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27 in the Peters Education Center Auditorium (Shaw and Woodrow avenues). Director Iram Parveen Bilal, CEO and founder of Parveen Shah Productions, will lead a discussion after the film screening. Bilal is the initiator and member of the Pakistani Oscar committee and was also the founder of Pakistan’s first professional screenwriting lab. The 103-minute film, inspired by true events, explores the internal debates of the Pakistani youth when a nanny inexplicably disappears and a search ensues. It was a 2012 awardee of Women in Film and recently was selected to be a part of the United State Library of Congress’ permanent collection.
