Dr. Iran Barrera
Dr. Iran Barrera, associate professor in the Department of Social Work Education at Fresno State, will speak at the National Center for Children in Poverty at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health on July 20 in New York City.
He will discuss his project, Consejo: A Latino Behavioral Health Practice Program, as well as the work he is doing with Interdisciplinary Research Leaders on adverse childhood experience and behavioral health programs in rural California.
Most recently, Barrera was chosen to chair the Cultural Competence Track for the Council on Social Work Education.
