The Kremen School of Education and Human Development will host the third annual South Valley “Make a Difference — Teach” conference from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 28, at the Tulare County Office of Education Conference Center. About 150 area high school juniors and seniors from the South Valley will be in attendance. These students will learn about the teaching profession and how a liberal studies degree and teaching credential can prepare them to become a teacher in the Valley.

This half-day conference aims to increase the number of future teachers in the South Valley by engaging the students to think about their possible future as educators. The day will begin with keynote speaker Jesse LeBeau, followed by breakout sessions on teaching topics, such as:

  • Teaching in a Bilingual Classroom.
  • Early Education Pathways.
  • Community College Education Pathways.

Fresno State is partnering with the Tulare County Office of Education College and Career program to raise awareness of the high need for teachers.
