The Western Region Continuums of Service Consortium recognized Every Neighborhood Partnership last month for its ongoing partnership and work with more than 200 Fresno State students. Through the partnership, students gain opportunities to give back to the community through after-school programs, literacy mentoring and recreational programs that help foster resilience.
“Our collaboration with Every Neighborhood Partnership demonstrates all the characteristics of a high quality, mutually beneficial relationship,” said Fresno State President Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval. “Our work with Every Neighborhood Partnership has significantly grown over the past 15 years. What started as small groups of student volunteers serving with Every Neighborhood Partnership’s Saturday Sports program has grown into over 300 students serving through a variety of avenues. These include Central Valley College Corps, Scholars in Service, service-learning courses, internships, athletic department teams, and through the ENP Reads program.”
As a result of this work, Every Neighborhood Partnership received the Community-Campus Award. Every Neighborhood Partnership collaborates with local churches, businesses, universities and community residents to empower people to advocate for the change they want to see in their neighborhoods.
Every Neighborhood Partnership’s collaboration with Fresno State is coordinated through the Jan and Bud Richter Center.
